Work has begun

Now that we were given permission to start earthwork from both Hingham and Cohasset conservation commission's earth is being moved.  The first order on the schedule is to pre-load the designated deep peat areas (4 in total) and leave in place for 100 days.

Looking to the right of 6 green-this will be a compensatory storage area

You will also notice the amount of tree work that is needed in these earthmoving areas.  Irrigation work is also started with the existing irrigation heads being removed and new pipe is being welded together for installation.

This was taken from the front of 9 tee.  Notice tree removal on the right side.

we are on schedule

Hay bales are still going up and being staked in.  Also, trees affected by the project are tagged for removal and limit of work fencing (orange snow fence) will be in place next.  These are all required by conservation before one piece of equipment can be moved to that side of the road.  It looks like conservation inspections will be at the end of next week and construction should begin the week of October 26th.

I will be updating the blog more frequently once earth moving begins.

New Domain Address

Getting serious now!  To follow our blog about the water remediation project please visit http://www.cgcprojects.org/ .

Siltation fencing will start to be installed on Monday, October 5th and continue for approximately 10 days.  The golf course will remain open in its entirety over the weekend (October 3-4) as well as Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 5-6).  If the golf course is available after tuesday, I will be sure to inform the golf shop.  We will do our best to keep the full golf course open while some of the erosion control is being installed and golf course availability will be handled on a day by day basis.

The construction crew has the right of way so please have their attention before proceeding with a shot.
